Blessing of the Renovated House of Prema Nilayam, Nalgonda

Fr. Suresh sss

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” says the Psalmist in Psalm 118:24. Truly, this verse found its living expression on 9th December 2025, a day of deep joy, gratitude, and fulfilment for our province, as we celebrated the blessing of the renovated house of Prema Nilayam at Nalgonda. After many years of hope, prayer, and planning, the long-cherished dream of renewing this formation house finally came to fruition. The occasion marked not only the physical renewal of a building but also the renewal of commitment to formation, mission, and community life.

Prema Nilayam, meaning “Home of Love,” has held a special place in the life of our province since its erection in 2009. Over the years, it has served as a spiritual and formation house, nurturing students and supporting various apostolic and community needs. Recognizing its importance, the present provincial team gave special attention to the condition and future role of this house. With foresight and pastoral concern, they initiated a comprehensive renovation so that Prema Nilayam could continue to serve its purpose more effectively in the years to come.

The blessing ceremony on 9th December 2025 was celebrated in an atmosphere of reverence and thanksgiving. We were honoured by the gracious presence of His Excellency Most Rev. K. Dhaman Kumar, MSFS, Bishop of Nalgonda, who blessed and inaugurated the renovated house. Along with him, we joyfully welcomed our Provincial, Very Rev. Fr. Peter Jayakanthan, Provincial of Kristu Jyothi India. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of fifteen priests, Deacon Joyson, around fifty religious, and a few faithful, all of whom gathered to witness and share in this significant moment. Their presence reflected the sense of communion and shared joy within the Church and the religious family.

The renovation work was carried out with care, dedication, and a clear vision for the future. Under the able leadership and close supervision of Rev. Fr. Jesu Augustine, SSS, the Provincial Treasurer, the project was executed efficiently and completed on time. The renewed structure now stands ready to continue its mission of serving students and supporting other apostolic purposes, responding to the needs of the province with renewed strength and hope.

On this joyful occasion, we first and foremost thank the Almighty God for His abundant blessings and guidance throughout the renovation process. We also place this house under the loving protection of Our Lady, Queen of the Cenacle, and seek the intercession of our holy Founder, St. Peter Julian Eymard, whose spirit of love and Eucharistic devotion continues to inspire our life and mission.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency Most Rev. K. Dhaman Kumar, Bishop of Nalgonda, for his kind acceptance of our invitation, his gracious presence, and for blessing and inaugurating the renovated house. Our sincere appreciation is extended to our Provincial, Rev. Fr. Peter Jayakanthan, for his constant encouragement, guidance, and unwavering support towards Prema Nilayam, truly a home of love for the province.

We also gratefully acknowledge the valuable cooperation and support of the Provincial Consultors, Rev. Fr. Santiago, the Vicar Provincial, Rev. Fr. Peter Fernandez, and Rev. Fr. A. Sebastian. Their collective concern and assistance contributed significantly to the successful completion of this project. In a special way, we thank Rev. Fr. Jesu Augustine, SSS, Provincial Treasurer, whose dedicated supervision ensured that the renovation was carried out smoothly, responsibly, and within the planned timeframe.

Our sincere thanks are also due to the contractor, Mr. Shivaji, and Bro. Moses, who undertook the renovation work with commitment and professionalism, ensuring that the house was renovated properly and with care. We are grateful as well to all the fathers and religious who continue to support this formation house through their prayers, encouragement, and involvement.

The blessing of the renovated Prema Nilayam stands as a sign of God’s faithfulness and the collective effort of many hearts and hands. As this home of love continues its mission, we entrust its future to the Lord, praying that it may remain a place of formation, prayer, service, and fraternity for many years to come.
