"Rooted in the Cenacle: To Be Eucharistic Prophets in Today's World"

The Kristu Jyoti Province of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (India & Austria) joyfully concluded its Provincial Chapter, which was held from the evening of 11 May to the evening of 16 May 2026. Gathered in a spirit of prayer, discernment, and communion, the capitulars sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit to chart the course of the province for the next four years. The Chapter was graced by the presence of our Superior General, Fr. Philip Benzy SSS, and Fr. Roel Dela Cruz SSS, our General Treasurer and the Delegate for the Asia & Oceania Region, whose presence affirmed the close bond between the province and the wider Congregation.

A New Provincial Leadership

Through prayerful discernment, the capitulars elected Fr. Peter Fernandez SSS as the new Provincial Superior of Kristu Jyoti Province. He will be supported by the newly elected Provincial Council: Fr. Arul Devan SSS, Fr. Rajesh Kumar SSS, and Fr. Bharathi SSS as Consultors and Council Members, and Fr. Jesu Augustine SSS as the fourth Consultor and Provincial Treasurer. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of them and assure them of our prayers as they take up this sacred responsibility.

A Vision Rooted in the Cenacle

The heart of this Chapter was the call to return to the Cenacle, the upper room where Mary and the Apostles waited, prayed, and were transformed by the Holy Spirit. Inspired by this mystery, the Chapter articulated a Vision and Mission to guide the province:

Vision Statement: Living the Riches of the Cenacle

Mission Statement: We commit ourselves in the spirit of Mary and the Apostles:

1. To have a heart of servant leadership, even to the washing of the feet of our brothers.

2. To exhibit the spirit of the Last Supper, table fellowship, accepting, forgiving, and loving one another in community.

3. To dedicate ourselves to the breaking of the Bread, adoration, sharing in common, and doing whatever He tells us.

4. To become Eucharistic Prophets like Saint Peter Julian Eymard in today's context.

Moving Forward Together

As the Province steps forward under new leadership, this Vision and Mission serve as our compass, calling every member to be deeply rooted in the Eucharist and to radiate its transforming power to the world. May the spirit of the Cenacle continue to breathe life into our communities, our ministries, and our witness, so that we may truly become Eucharistic Prophets for our time.
