Youngling Mingling

The Youngling Mingling Program, held from December 26 to 29, 2024, at the historic St. Francis Xavier’s Chapel in Colaba, was an inspiring initiative aimed at fostering unity and growth among the formees of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. Under the thoughtful guidance of Fr. Tiago SSS, the Vicar Provincial, the program served as a transformative experience for nearly 32 students, accompanied by 4 formators, equipping them with spiritual insights and communal values essential for their journey of formation. The event was also made possible through the support of Fr. Peter Jayakanthan, SSS, the Provincial Superior, whose encouragement and leadership set the stage for its success.

This year’s program, meticulously planned and executed, was a testament to the congregation’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of religious leaders. Fr. Jesu Augustine SSS and Fr. Christopher SSS played important roles in ensuring that all logistical aspects were seamlessly organized. From accommodations to meal arrangements, including the catering led by the dedicated team, every detail was managed with precision and care. Their combined efforts created a comfortable and enriching environment for all participants.

The Youngling Mingling Program began with a solemn inaugural ceremony that set a reflective and prayerful tone for the days ahead. Fr. Tiago, in his opening address, welcomed the students warmly and outlined the purpose of the program. He emphasized the importance of community, collaboration, and spiritual growth, urging participants to embrace this opportunity to deepen their understanding of the congregation’s charism and mission.

Central to the program were sessions designed to provide both spiritual enrichment and practical knowledge. Through discussions and workshops, the students explored the life and teachings of St. Peter Julian Eymard, founder of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. These sessions were were deeply engaging, inviting participants to reflect on how the Eucharistic charism could be integrated into their daily lives and ministries

The program also featured interactive activities that encouraged the students to build relationships and learn from one another. Group dynamics provided a platform for sharing experiences, insights, and challenges encountered in their formation journey. These moments of exchange fostered a sense of brotherhood and mutual support, creating a strong foundation for their future roles within the congregation. Fr. Tiago’s leadership was evident throughout the program. His ability to connect with the students, understand their needs, and provide guidance made a lasting impression on all participants. Through his insightful talks and approachable demeanor, he inspired the students to view their formation not just as a period of learning but as a deeply spiritual journey grounded in the Eucharist. A key highlight of the program was the Eucharistic Adoration held at St. Francis Xavier’s Chapel. This sacred time of silence and prayer allowed participants to reconnect with their vocation and find strength in the presence of Christ. The chapel, with its serene ambiance, provided the perfect setting for this deeply spiritual experience. Many students described this moment as a turning point, reaffirming their commitment to their calling.

The practical arrangements made by Fr. Jesu Augustine and Fr. Christopher ensured that the students could focus entirely on the program without any distractions. From comfortable accommodations to well-organized meals provided by the catering team, every detail was carefully managed. Their dedication and attention to detail reflected the congregation’s ethos of service and hospitality, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

As the program concluded, the brothers expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful initiative. Many shared how the Youngling Mingling Program had helped them gain a deeper understanding of the congregation’s mission and provided clarity in their formation journey. The bonds formed during the program were evident as students bid farewell with promises of continued prayers and support for one another.
